QUICKEN 2016 UPDATE CAUSES FAILURE INSTALL

I did QCleanUI, followed by reinstall, followed by yet another error 'we don't think Q installed correctly.' to which I clicked the 'OK, you didn't install correctly' button & then things went to hell. The install went OK & it converted my file, but I got the '.connection error, try again later' error when it prompted me to activate '16 (didn't Intuit learn anything with the TurboTax activation debacle back in the 90's ?!!!) So, damn the torpedoes, ramming speed ahead, I just launched Q'16 install. My problem is that upon resurrecting every backup I could find & Validating each of those, I got the same damn Validation error in the log. You're supposed to restore from an earlier backup & play again. Q'13 Validation told me I had the dreaded '.damaged data block' error in my log file, for which there is no known remedy. Before doing that, however, I did the precautionary step of backing up my '13 file & then validating it prior to upgrade. I did the 'expected' approach (simply install '16 w/o explicit uninstall of '13). о—“I just took 'Q H&B '16 & had install issues, too, along with something interesting (at least I consider it interesting). Reinstall Quicken but make sure you are offline (netДisconnected), followed by the latest Quicken Mondo patch.
